Brett Templeman is a partner at Lowthorp Richards. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating possible from the only national peer-review rating service for attorneys.
Brett began practicing law in 2003 and has tried many jury and bench trials, achieving numerous multimillion dollar trial verdicts, arbitration awards and settlements for his clients. He dedicates the bulk of his practice to helping people and businesses who have suffered harm due to the misconduct or negligence of others. He specializes in the following areas: personal injury; wrongful death; employment law; sexual harassment/abuse; and real property losses stemming from flood and fire. While the majority of his cases are within the Counties of Ventura and Santa Barbara, he has handled hundreds of cases throughout the State of California, including federal court.
Judgments Brett and his co-counsels have achieved following trials include the following:
$600,000 for a victim of sexual harassment and wrongful termination; $3.85 million for a historic commercial property destroyed by a flood; and $18 million for a young man’s loss of a leg as a result of a public entity’s dangerous condition.
Brett is a former President of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association (VCTLA) and currently serves as a board member. He is an active and proud member of the Ventura County Bar Association (VCBA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles (CAALA.) He also occasionally serves as a Mandatory Settlement Conference Pro Tem Judge for Ventura County Superior Court.
Brett is a native of Ventura County and a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of San Diego – School of Law. He is a lifelong waterman and former World Champion Bodysurfer. He lives in Ojai with his wife and daughter.
